Just one to two tablespoons of ground flaxseed in your diet per day is helpful in preventing tumors that respond to estrogen. In addition, flax adds plant omega-3 fats to your diet, which have been shown to provide a number of benefits to the body.

Beans

Beans are another great addition to your diet. It might take awhile for your gastrointestinal tract to get used to increasing your intake of beans, but it is well worth the effort. Throw some beans in your soup, salad, and even pizza to add more fiber to your diet, which may help fight breast cancer by lowering the estrogen levels in your body.

Whole Grain Foods

Other fiber boosters are whole grain foods. Don’t bother with white rice. Instead, add brown rice, wheatberries, and bulgar to your diet. When purchasing breads, bagels, crackers, cereals, pastas, and tortillas, go for the whole grain options.

Nuts

Nuts also add more fiber to your diet. In addition, they provide natural prevention of breast cancer by being loaded with monounsaturated fats, which have been shown to fight cancer.

Soy

Soy contain saponins, protease inhibitors, phytates, and isoflavones, which is a weak estrogen compound. Each of these is thought to have anti-carcinogenic effects. A great deal of research has shown that fruits and vegetables are jam-packed with phytochemicals, which help fight cancer.

In addition, it is important to mix up the fruit and vegetables you include in your diet. Every day, you should include something from each of these groups in your diet:

1) Lycopene-rich produce, such as red grapefruit, tomatoes, guava, and watermelon

2) Cruciferous veggies, such as broccoli sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower

3) Citrus fruits, such as grapefruit and oranges

4) Beta-carotene-rich foods, such as carrots, winter squash, and sweet potatoes

5) Berries, such as raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries

6) Dark green and leafy vegetables, such as romaine, spinach, collards, kale, and Swiss chard

Remember, getting more fruit and vegetables into your diet does not happen on accident. You need to plan ahead and try to include three servings of fruit and vegetables with every meal.
