cells to appear when we are older, as opposed to a turnover rate
of every 28 days when we are younger.
Vitamin B Complex
Another important skin healing vitamin is vitamin B.
Vitamin B works wonders toward conditioning the skin. It is
particularly helpful in returning the glow for those with dull
skin. Vitamin B can be taken as a supplement or foods rich in
vitamin B can be added to the diet. Some foods that are
excellent sources of vitamin B include: fish, sunflower seeds,
chicken, brewer's yeast, beef liver, pork, turkey, veal,
swordfish, beef kidney, tuna, salmon, beets, and peanuts
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is another skin healing vitamin you should add to your
diet. This vitamin is aids in the manufacture of collagen, which
is the “glue” that holds your skin cells together. Collagen is
responsible for keeping your skin firm and taut as you grow
older. In addition, vitamin C is an antioxidant.
All fruits and vegetables have at least a little vitamin C, so
you can add more vitamin C to your diet by eating these healthy
foods. The foods highest in vitamin C are citrus fruits,
broccoli, green peppers, leafy green vegetables, tomatoes,
cantaloupe, strawberries, and white potatoes. The US RDA
recommends that women over 18 get at least 75 mg of vitamin C
per day. So get healthy and keep your skin looking magnificent

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a skin healing vitamin that is similar to vitamin C
in that it helps protect your skin from sun damage. In addition,
vitamin E is an oily vitamin. Therefore, it helps soften your
complexion when added to your moisturizer and applied topically.
When taken as a supplemental vitamin, vitamin E is easily
absorbed by the cell membranes. Here, it also acts like an
antioxidant and protects your skin’s cells from damage.
The US RDA recommends that women consume 15 mg of vitamin E
every day. You can include more vitamin E in your diet by eating
corn, nuts, olives, wheat germ, asparagus, seeds, vegetable oil,
and green leafy vegetables. Even though you are eating more
vitamin E, don’t forget to use it directly on your skin with
your moisturizer as well!
