The Best Method For Performing a Liver Detoxification

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

There are many ways to perform a body detoxification if one is truly serious about obtaining a healthy body. One of the ways that these detox methods are successful is through a complete liver detoxification. Even though it is completely possible to obtain a new and clean liver, the liver is one organ that should be focused on during a detox because the liver contributes wholly to a healthy body. If your body is not healthy for one reason or another, then chances are that the failing could be because of your liver.

But in order to understand why one must go through a liver detoxification specifically, one must realize what exactly the liver does. The liver produces a type of bile in order to clean the toxins and other wastes that are absorbed by the bloodstream in the body. After the toxins and wastes have been cleaned in the body then they are ready to exit the body. However, if some of these toxins don’t end up leaving the body then what will happen is that there will be a type of toxin buildup throughout the body. This toxin buildup on the organs of the body, including the liver, is the exact reason that everyone needs to undergo a liver detoxification.

However, there are two ingredients that the liver needs in order to function properly. These two ingredients are water and glucose. Both water and glucose help the liver to work in the body, aiding the body’s system to get rid of wastes that are not needed. Drinking water is the first step to a liver detoxification, as water is needed throughout any total body cleansing method. However, the foods that one eats during a liver detoxification are quite different from any other methods of a total body cleanse. For some examples of foods that you should eat during a liver detox, please see the recommended diet on this page.

Because the body needs these certain vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to cleanse the body, a couple of ways that this can be done is through herbal remedies. An herbal detoxification that includes things like garlic, parsnip, parsley, cayenne pepper, curry, cinnamon, ginger root, as well as many others can be combined in the foods and liquids that are consumed during liver cleansing. In fact, there are many herbal formulas that combine a number of herbs that assist in a liver detox. My favorite is this liver cleanse. It is a 100% All-Natural Liver and Gallbladder Cleanser. Its combination of nine natural ingredients is designed to support healthy liver and gallbladder function, and it’s intended to assist in detoxification of the essential organs. Not only that, but all of the ingredients in this formula are either organic or wildcrated. You can see a full list of the ingredients here.

How long should one continue a liver detoxification? The simple answer is it depends. One of the best way to judge is from the lessening of your symptoms. Many symptoms will simply resolve spontaneously after the 2nd or 3rd cleanse, while others may take 6 or 7 consecutive cleanses and require the identification and resolution of other factors, i.e. supplementation, external environment, emotional trauma, spinal/nerve damage, etc. For a list of frequently asked questions and answers about liver detoxification, please visit this link.

All in all, though, a complete liver detoxification will help to restore functionality to the liver as well as to the rest of the body. All of the body’s organs are vitally important to maintaining a healthy body, but cleansing your liver will help the most! If you’re experiencing poor health, give yourself a liver detox. It may be the most important health decision you ever make.

Simple Steps to a Complete Body Detoxification

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

The reason for starting a body detoxification program is to have a healthier system, an immune system that is working properly, as well as an overall healthier body and attitude. By completing a detoxification program, you are certain to attain these goals. If you truly want to start on cleansing your body then you must consider how you will do it, among other things. There are certain products that can be purchased at health food stores that will enable you to cleanse your body. Here are some things to consider when trying to find a complete body detoxification system.

Find the Right System for You

First, understand that not all products that can be bought at local health food stores will work for everyone. Everyone is different, which is the main reason that the best way to complete a detoxification program is to include natural ingredients into your detoxification program. If one is to complete a total body detox then there are a couple principles that he or she must adhere to if they are just beginning. For example, the mixture of the detoxification ingredients should not be too strong or overpowering. If this is your first detox then you will certainly want to start out lightly by making a good combination of all the ingredients together. As you continue the detoxification system every month, then you can work your way up so as to not shock your body’s system.

The detoxification system that I like is this one. The reason I like it is because it offers a radically different approach to colon cleansing. Unlike many colon cleansers that I’ve tried, this one slowly releases oxygen into your digestive tract over an 18-hour period. This helps to lift away and liquefy all of the mucus and sludge that has been building up in your system. Also, this formula has been combined with a unique combination of ozone-oxygenated Magnesium, Organic Germanium-132, and Citric Acid which all help to clear out deep-seated waste, toxins and parasites that built up inside your intestinal system. Not only that, but you won’t be a prisoner to your bathroom!

Consider your Condition

Another thing to remember when completing a detoxification program is to consider your condition carefully before beginning on any program. One of the reasons that many people feel they need a body detoxification is because they are ill in some way or another. However, one must think about their current health situation before they embark on a detox journey. For example, if one has just been diagnosed with cancer then a total body detoxification plan may not be the best course of action to take. On the other hand, an ailment from a simple cold bacteria or influenza certainly warrants the use of body detoxification in order for the disease and bacteria to be gone from the body’s systems.

Prepare for a Cleaner Body

Just as there are preparations that are made for various other activities that we do with our bodies, such as a workout at the gym, so should we prepare our bodies and minds for the detoxification system. In other words, detoxifying our bodies can take a toll if we don’t prepare ourselves. Two good ways to do something like this is through the use of meditation and yoga. These two exercises can be combined to not only strengthen our bodies for the detoxification we are about to complete, but we will be mentally prepared as well.

Now that you know exactly what you should do before and during a detoxification cleanse of the body it is important to go ahead with the cleansing. All of these pieces of advice, though, will help in the long run and definitely contribute to a healthier body that will live longer!

How To Rid Your Body Of Toxins Naturally With 10 Of The Most Cleansing Herbs In Nature

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Even before the advent of Aspirin and Pepto-Bismol, man has found ways of remedying common ailments by turning to nature. In fact, a large percentage of the drugs we use today contain substances from nature. Research has only gone so far in discovering chemicals from plants that can be used in pharmaceuticals. It is very likely that we have only begun to scratch the surface of the potential that plants possess in cleansing our bodies to rid of toxins. By cleansing our bodies of toxins on a regular basis we may very well be able to improve the quality of our life. In fact, there are a number of herbs that can be easily obtained from our local health food store which we can use on a regular basis that will do just that. Some of them are discussed below:

1) One Herb that help detoxify the digestive system by acting as a laxative is cascara sagrada which have been shown to stimulate secretions by the stomach, liver, and pancreas. It has been found by many studies to reduce microbial action in digestive systems.

2) Since the liver is responsible for a lot of detoxifying jobs, we can supplement our diets with herbs and compounds that specifically act on that organ. Silybum marianum or milk thistle has long been used on patients with liver diseases such as cirrhosis. Silymarin is a compound extracted from milk thistle, which helps the liver produce bile and dissolving substances that act on fat, drugs, alcohol, and other toxins.

Studies show that silymarin treatments have been shown to be effective against skin and prostate cancer cells. Moreover it has been proved that silymarin has abilities similar to reducing the toxic effects of chemotherapy on cancer patients. Milk thistle can be ingested in tea or caplet form.

3) Another herb that can be used together with milk thistle in helping the liver is dandelion root. Like the milk thistle, dandelion root is said to further protect the liver and the gall bladder. Studies show that dandelion treatments help produce antioxidants and reduce infections and incidence of arthritis in mice. Dandelion leaves can be eaten as vegetable dishes and roots can be extracted for beverage additives.

4) Turmeric, or Curcuma longa, is a spice used in many Asian dishes, especially Indian cuisine. This herb helps stimulate bile production and protects the liver against damage by supporting its detoxification. Aside from that, Curcuma produces antioxidants and prevents inflammation. It can be used as a drink in teas, or added in powdered form as seasoning to dishes. Turmeric has been widely studied for its potential to treat many diseases as well as in detoxification of the liver.

All of the above herbs are known for their powerful effect on detoxifying the excretory system, however, let’s not forget about other organs that need detoxifying too! For example, our filtering and excreting organs also need detoxifying. Many herbs have been used as diuretics, which stimulate and improve urination for expelling nitrogenous wastes. There are also anti-lithics, which prevent kidney and bladder stone formation, and diaphoretics, which stimulate perspiration to further remove salts and oils from the skin. Some of these herbs are below:

5) Nettle, is a popular diuretic used by many cultures for detoxifying. The roots, as well as all other plant parts of the nettle, are used for body cleansing. Traditional uses of the nettle for treating urinary conditions have been seen in Arabia, Turkey, Serbia, and other countries in the middle-east and Mediterranean regions. In 2007, Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine published that Urtica along with other herbs can lower glucose levels and can be an alternative for treating diabetes. Another study in 2002 published in the Annals of Pharmacotherapy showed that Urtica treatments can improve the conditions of patients with prostatic hyperplasia, or enlargement of the prostate gland and obstruction of the urinary tract.

6) Native Americans have been reported to have used Hydrangea root as a diuretic and anti-lithic herb treatment. This plant is not only a decorative garden addition, but a powerful detoxifier as well. Toxins can be eliminated from the body by stimulating urination. Hydrangea is used for dissolving kidney and bladder stones, as well as treating enlarged prostate glands in male patients. American Indians also use this herb as a diaphoretic, to stimulate perspiration and reduce fevers. Some studies have also shown that extracts from hydrangea have antimicrobial properties.

7) Another diuretic, which is slightly milder than others, is juniper berry, or Juniperus communis. This plant has functions that not only help the excretory system, but enhance other body functions as well. Aside from stimulating loss of fluids, extracts from this herb can stimulate digestion, kill microbes, reduce infections, and treat rheumatism. Juniper also stimulates blood and lymph circulation. An interesting research conducted in Japan in 1999 and published by the journal Chemical Senses even showed that inhalation of juniper oils and extracts enhanced work concentration and alertness in test subjects.

8) Since we perspire as a means of removing excess wastes from the body, we cannot prevent ourselves from releasing unwanted odors. Alfalfa grass, or Medicago sativa, is also a diuretic because it contains fiber, but it can deodorize the body and promote fresh breath. Saponins, or compounds which dissolve fats and cholesterol, have been isolated from alfalfa, and found to have reduced absorption of cholesterol in the intestines of rats. Also, alfalfa is being studied for its antioxidant properties.

9 & 10) Other diaphoretic herbs, those that promote perspiration and reduce fever are garlic (Allium sativum), ginger (Zingiber officinalis), and peppermint (Mentha piperita). Herbal teas made from these household ingredients can be drunk to reduce fever and increase perspiration. Many dietary supplements that stimulate slimming include these herbs.

As you can see, The Almighty has been extremely generous in providing us with alternatives for living clean lives. It’s just a shame that most humans forget to thank Him! There are hundreds to thousands more herbs and natural products used in detoxification today. There are even millions more that scientists are yet to discover, however the best complete detoxification program that I’ve found is this one.
