How To Make Your Own Wrinkle Defying Recipes For Your Face

Monday, March 19th, 2007

In one of the last articles I wrote about the importance of a good moisturizer in the prevention and reduction of wrinkles, today I would like to share with you the following recipes that you can try at home to make your own all natural solution for wrinkle prevention and reduction:

Apple- pear nighttime wrinkle lotion

1 tsp apple juice
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp lime juice
2 Tbsp buttermilk
1TBSP rosemary leaves
3 seedless grapes
1/4 pear
2 egg whites

Blend all ingredients on medium speed for 30 seconds. Using a cotton ball,
dab mixture on areas around the eyes and wherever wrinkles have developed.
Let dry, then rinse with warm water. Use no more than 3 times a week.
Follow with a moisturizer. Cover and refrigerate immediately, discard after 4 days.

LAVENDER LOTION

1 oz. glycerin
2 tsp. oil of lavender
Put ingredients in a clean glass bottle and shake well. Refrigerate.
213. Lemon cleansing Cream
1Tbsp beeswax
3Tbsp veg oil
1Tbsp witch hazel
1Tbsp lemon juice
1/8 tsp borax
6 drops lemon eo

Over low heat, gently melt beeswax in the veg oil. Beat for 5
minutes until mixture has a creamy, smooth consistency. In a separate pot
gently warm witch hazel (I infuse lavender in the witch hazel, good for the
skin) and lemon juice; stir in borax until dissolved and add to
cream. Beat steadily. After the cream has cooled stir in the lemon eo. Then
spoon into jars. This is good for eliminating excess oil and smoothing
wrinkles. Plus the lemon gives it antiseptic qualities.

ORANGE JUICE-TAPIOCA MASK (soothes skin and retards
wrinkles)

1 T. tapioca
2 T. honey
1/2 C. fresh orange juice

In a small saucepan over low heat, mix tapioca and orange juice. Stir in
honey and let the “pudding” simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and cool. Spread the mixture over your face and neck and
let dry for 20 minutes. Rinse.

SOFTENING MASQUE (emollient)

1 egg yolk
1/3 C. avocado, peeled and mashed
1/3 C. milk

Beat the egg yolk until fluffy. Add milk and avocado, mixing thoroughly with
the yolk. Apply to face and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with hot
water.

How To Naturally Turn The Clock Back On Wrinkles

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

Wrinkles are caused by aging skin and the elements that our skin is exposed to day after day. Wrinkles are a natural part of aging as our skin becomes thinner.

Sun exposure is another major cause of wrinkles and can cause premature aging not only to the face, but also to other exposed parts of the body. Also, repeated facial expressions such as smiling and squinting cause’s lines and wrinkles on the face. Whatever causes your wrinkles, there are steps you can take to prevent and treat wrinkles to turn back the clock and make your appearance younger looking.

Prevention is the key to many wrinkles, especially those due to sun exposure. It is estimated that the sun causes at least 90 percent of premature aging and wrinkles. Many of these lines and wrinkles can be prevented. If you are concerned with wrinkles, you should always apply a good sunscreen daily all year long. You can also help cut down on sun exposure by wearing a hat.

Another step you can take to help prevent wrinkles is to eat right and drink plenty of water everyday. Your body loses a lot of water each day. When you hydrate your body from the inside, your skin will reap the benefits. Drinking the recommend daily amounts of water helps your skin stay smooth and supple. Skin that is moist does not lose its elasticity as fast as dry skin.

Also, make sure you eat healthy and enjoy a wide variety of foods each day. Whole grains, fruits and vegetables will help keep you healthy and your skin will benefit as well.
Adding small amounts of healthy oils such as olive oil to your diet may also help your skin. Washing the face everyday will help prevent wrinkles, too. It is recommended that when you wash your face, you use warm tap water and do not scrub.

Also, it is important to thoroughly remove all make up and use a light cleanser with added moisturizer. When you are ready to dry your face, do not rub the towel on your face. Instead, use gentle patting motions to dry.

In addition to preventing wrinkles, there are steps you can take to help minimize the amount of wrinkles you may already have. One very effective way is to use daily moisturizer. There are several types of moisturizer that actually helps hydrate the skin and leave the skin on your face looking smooth. This will help minimize existing wrinkles and may help prevent new wrinkles from forming in the long run. For added effect, use a heavier moisturizer each night before bed and every morning before applying makeup. In the next lessons you will learn how to make your own wrinkle defying recipes for lotions and creams.

This revolutionary anti aging cream utilizes the most advanced ingredients available today. The active ingredients not only help to firm, hydrate, and tighten facial skin but also help to repair the appearance of fines lines:

What You Should Know Before Buying The Next Bottle Of Shampoo Or Conditioner For Your Hair

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

When choosing a shampoo for yourself, you should try to let your scalp dictate what type of shampoo you use. If you have dandruff, for example, you would need something specific to that condition.

Be careful, however, to avoid shampoos that have any type of alcohol in the ingredients. Alcohol can dry out your hair.

If your hair becomes too dry, try to give your hair a needed break—try washing less often and using less products and styling aids that cause your hair to become dried out. Additionally, use only a mild shampoo, one labeled “for dry or damaged hair. Or, better, still, try out some of the home-made shampoos below to avoid many of the harmful chemicals that are often found in commercial hair products.

Conditioners

There is some debate as to whether or not you even need conditioner. For the most part, you do, unless you have super fine hair that looks lifeless when you use a conditioner.

When hair becomes dry, the outer layers, called cuticles, peel off from the central shaft. Conditioners glue the cuticles back to the shaft, add lubricant to the hair, and prevent static electricity (which creates frizz). Pick a conditioner that works well for you and use it after every shampoo

Furthermore, hair care products, brushing, drying, curling and straightening your hair can be damaging, not to mention colors or perms. A conditioner can replenish and protect your hair from these damaging elements. To avoid oily or dull looking hair on the crown of your head, only apply conditioner to the length of your hair and avoid the scalp.

No matter which shampoos and conditioners you decide on, the best products that you can use on your hair are ones that are natural and contain wholesome ingredients that won’t cause your hair any harm. That’s why learning to make your own shampoos and conditioners is so important.

Body Lotion

2 cups
1 cup aloe vera gel
1 teaspoon lanolin
1 teaspoon pure Vit E oil
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/2 to 3/4 ounce beeswax
3/4 cup almond oil
up to 1and 1/2 teaspoons essential oil or more to prolong scent ( I used a
combination of lavender EO and rose geranium EO - scent is lovely and is
great for skin)

Place aloe vera gel, lanolin, & vit E oil in blender or food processor.
Place coconut oil & beeswax in 2-cup Pyrex measuring cup, microwave on high
30 seconds, and stir with chopstick. Repeat heating in 10-second blocks
until fully melted. Stir in almond oil, reheating if necessary. Run blender
or processor at low to medium speed, then pour in melted oils in thin stream
as if making mayonnaise. As oil is blended in, cream will turn white and
blender’s motor will start to grind. As soon as melted oils are added and
you’ve achieved mayonnaise-like consistency, stop motor, add essential
oil(s) and pulse-blend. Do not overblend. Transfer cream to glass jars while
still warm, as it thickens quickly.

215. LEMON HAND LOTION

2 tsp. glycerin
Use 1 teaspoon of lemon juice for every 2 teaspoons of glycerin.

SUNTAN LOTION

2 oz. salt-free mayonnaise
2 oz. black tea (brewed very dark)
Juice of 1 lemon
5 (400 IU each) vitamin E capsules

Mix mayonnaise, tea and lemon juice in a blender. Pour into a storage

How To Choose The Best Lotion For Your Skin

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

A lotion is defined as, “a fluid with healing, antiseptic properties that is used on the skin.”

Lotions, in the form of moisturizing agents, are applied to the surface of the skin and go to work on dry skin to hydrate the skin, relieve flaking and itching. Lotions however, contrary to popular belief, cannot slow down the process of aging, prevent wrinkles from forming or penetrate the deepest layers of the skin.

Lotions are broken down into two types- emollients and humectants. Emollients form a barrier of oil on the surface of the skin that serves to seal in moisture and prevent it from quickly evaporating before it is absorbed. Emollients are very much like the natural oils found in the skin. They come in the form of lanolin, mineral oil and petroleum jelly.

Humectants on the other hand both attract and then hold in water that is on the surface of the skin. Humectants come in the form of glycerin, lactic acid, sorbitol and urea. It is not always easy to determine what kind of lotion is best for your skin. A number of factors have to be taken into consideration such as how chapped, dry or sensitive your individual skin is. Do you have any known allergies? This is another thing you must know as you don’t want to have to deal with your skin breaking out. As a rule the simpler a lotion it is, the better it is for the skin. Lotions that are loaded with a lot of perfumes, colors, emulsifiers and thickeners are more likely to cause an allergic reaction to sensitive or delicate skin.

If acne is a problem (as some people are prone to acne on their backs, arms or legs) overuse of lotion or the wrong kind of lotion could cause a terrible break out. This you want to avoid at all costs!

Lotions with alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) are good for skin that needs firming, smoothing and for skin damaged by the sun. AHAs are taken from fruit, sour milk and red wine.
Research has shown that cell turnover is greater when a lotion contains these acids. Both low concentration as well as high concentration AHA lotions can be found on the market today but it always best to make your own lotions at home and by so doing you can avoid many of the chemicals in lotions that can cause a lot of skin problems.

Now, you can learn how to make your own homemade lotions and creams. I show you how in my Homemade Beauty ecourse. Sign up now.

How To Make Your Own Eye Cream

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Dark under eye circles not only make you look tired but they also make you look a lot older than you are too. The truth is, they don’t have to be a permanent part of who you are. There are natural ways to get rid of dark under eye circles, if you only know how.

If you have dark circles under your eyes, here are a few homemade creams and remedies that you can try:

AVOCADO EYE CREAM

5 drops almond oil
3 ripe avocado slices
Blend almond oil into avocado. Dab around eyes and leave on for 5 minutes.
Rinse.
171. Beach Sand Foot Scrub
2 Tablespoons Canola oil
2 Tablespoons beach sand
3-5 drops rosemary oil

Combine and mix into a paste using a fork. Massage scrub onto feet,
concentrating especially on problem areas. Rinse off with warm water
and pat dry.

EYE PUFFINESS EASER

2 tsp. grated raw potato (no skin)
1 tsp. moisturizer (without urea)

Mix well, then apply around the eyes. Cover with cool, damp cotton or gauze
for 10 to 15 minutes.

Additionally, here are a few other eye care tips:

1) The best overall eye tonic is eyebright (an herb). Make a tea of it and either use
the teabags or soak cotton balls or soft gauze in the tea and apply to eyes as a
compress while lying down.

2) For puffy and swollen eyes, make a wet compress of 4 Tbsp. freshly grated raw
potato. Place on the eyes for about 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

3) To reduce swelling and for bags under the eyes, brew a cup of strong rosehip tea.
Soak 2 cotton balls in the tea or use 2 tea bags, lie down and place over the eyes.

4) For dark circles, cut a fresh fig in half, place a half over each eye.

5) To soothe tired, irritated eyes, cut the end of a cumber into 1/4 in thick slices.
Apply a cool slice to each eye.

6) Raw potato slices laid on sore eyes reduces heat and redness.

7) For eye puffiness, any tea bag (herbal is better, especially eyebright), slightly
cooled, placed on the eyes while you rest.

8) For tired or bloodshot eyes, soak sterile cotton balls or soft cloth in cold skim milk.
Place over eyes for 10 minutes. Rinse entire face in warm, then cool, water.

9) To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth
and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

How To Naturally Get Rid Of Dark Under Eye Circles…..For Good!

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

No one enjoys the look of dark circles around the eyes but they are a very common beauty worry for lots of women. Dark circles appear under the eyes because the area under the eye does not contain any fat (as opposed to other areas of the fact that do) and as a result, blood vessels are very apparent, giving the area a transparent look and prompting the unenviable title of “raccoon eyes.” Due to the lack of fat (or subcutaneous fat layer) there is a very high probability that fluid, as a result of a series of sleepless nights, too much drinking or a great deal of crying, etc. will collect and make it appear as though “bags” have developed under the eyes. No one enjoys this look and it can put a damper on an otherwise good day.

Heredity also plays a role yet heredity is unfortunately something we have no control over whatsoever. Allergies to just about anything and the tendency towards thinner eyelids are passed on in families from one generation to another. Allergies can be to blame for under eye circles while nose related problems such as chronic nasal obstruction can contribute to them as well.

Chronic fatigue and/or a lack of sleep are a very common cause of eye circles but fortunately this is easy to remedy- just get more sleep! Spending too much time in the sun can increase one’s chances of acquiring dark under eye circles as can “woman-related” problems such as menstruation and pregnancy. Consuming too many alcoholic beverages as well as caffeinated beverages (namely sodas and chocolate drinks) can encourage the swift arrival of those dreaded under eye circles and yet another reason exists for quitting smoking- smoking is another major cause of developing a case of dark under eye circles and smoking serves to wreak havoc with circulation to many areas of the body (even the eyes).

The good news is that there are ways to help avoid getting them as well as ways to help keep them at bay or from being all too painfully obvious and ruining your otherwise flawless look. Hydrating your body on a daily basis is so very important- and this means drinking water and plenty of it. This point cannot be emphasized enough. The suggestion of drinking “at least eight glasses of water a day” is very true.

The body is composed of a lot of water (almost one half) yet we excrete a lot of water regularly and therefore need to replenish the supply constantly so drink up often! It goes without saying that plenty of shut-eye will go a long way in helping you to avoid the “raccoon eyes” syndrome. Another idea for concealing dark circles is apply your own home made eye creams to problem areas.

This product offer a cutting edge anti wrinkle solution which can help you look younger and more beautiful by reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines on your face and around your eyes and other effects of aging.

How To Make Your Own Homemade Body Scrubs And Other Exfoliating Products

Monday, March 5th, 2007

When you think about exfoliating, think about it as using a piece of fine sandpaper on your skin to get rid of dead cells from the outer layer of your skin. You are using a mildly abrasive substance which buffs the dead skin cells away, leaving healthy, glowing skin behind. There are several benefits to exfoliating.

For one, the old dead skin cells that make your complexion dull are buffed away, leaving new skin cells that are vital and fresh. Secondly, after exfoliation, your skin can more readily absorb any moisturizers or other skin treatments.

There is some debate in the beauty world as to how often you should use some type of exfoliating product on your face, however, a good rule of thumb is if your skin leans toward normal to oily skin, exfoliating is beneficial about three to four times a week. This action will also help with the excess oil production on your skin. With drier skin, exfoliation should only be done maybe once or twice a week at the most.

Whatever schedule you decide on, making your own body scrubs and exfoliating products is not only fun, it’s also loads of fun.

Just take a look at some of these recipes and see for yourself:

Whether you have sore, tired feet from standing all day, or a stiff back from working at your desk, bath salts can help improve the way you feel and ease away the tension.

How To Naturally Lighten Your Skin

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

Bleach is not just for laundry anymore. You will find that in a beauty regiment, bleach or the process of bleaching is very common place. Whether it is bleaching your hair for a certain look, bleaching your facial hair or bleaching you skin for dark spots to make it less noticeable or bleaching your nails, you will see that bleach has found a place firmly in the consciousness of the beauty industry. How is it used and how can you make it a part of your beauty regiment? There are a number of ways that can be very effective if done properly.

One of the most popular uses for bleaching is to lighten facial hair. Bleaching this way actually has chemicals that fuse into the skin and lighten your facial hair. This is particularly valuable if you have a tendency to grow dark facial hair. It should not be confused with removal of hair; it only makes the hair less noticeable. There are essentially three types of bleach and none are great on your skin, but vary in their degree of damaging effects. For the purposes of this information, you should think about the least harmful version of hair bleach for the face.

It is easy to make as well. You simply mix together two tablespoons of powdered milk, hydrogen peroxide until you get a paste, and if your hair is dark then perhaps a drop of ammonia.

The milk in the mixture actually moisturizes your skin to prevent burns from the peroxide. Note that there is not liquid bleach in this. Do not use liquid laundry bleaches on your face; it is a harmful chemical. In beauty, bleach products refers to those that lighten or whiten. There are also store bought bleaches you can use on your face, but read the instructions carefully to prevent burns or irritation of your skin. Moisturize well immediately after.

Skin Lightening products come in all forms. However, whether it is for your nails, facial hair, or the hair on your head, bleaching products should be used with care as many of these products can be harsh.

If you want to learn how to lighten your skin safely and naturally, then you need to download a copy of the skin lightening report right here:

Facial massage is also another excellent way to get rid of wrinkles. Not only does it helps your face retain its elasticity, but it also helps keeps wrinkles at bay and relaxes the muscles in the face by stimulating the blood vessels of your skin.

If you have bags under your eyes, try this exercise. Place your fingertips below your eyebrows and lift your eyelids. Press your upper lids down, and hold your fingertips in position and count to five. Relax and then repeat. How’s that for a natural way to get rid of wrinkles?

Quit Smoking

Apart from the above, there are other natural ways to get rid of wrinkles, like giving up smoking. Researchers have discovered that smoking can cause premature wrinkling of the skin. Not only that, but it can also minimize the moisture in your skin and rob it of its elasticity. This is why many smokers often have wrinkles around their mouths and eyes.

Get Moderate Amounts Of Sunlight

By protecting your skin from excessive exposure to sunlight, you can protect your skin from the ultraviolet rays which can damage the middle layer of the skin. Excessive amounts of sun may limit the moisture content in the skin and cause wrinkles to the face and other exposed parts of your body. If you’re going to be outdoors for extended periods of time, you may want to consider carrying an umbrella and applying moisturizer before leaving home.

Forget The Tanning Salon

The ultraviolet light of tanning salons can affect your skin drastically and give you wrinkles prematurely, not to mention a possibility of skin cancer too. If you want to develop a beautiful tan, get it naturally, by spending moderate amounts of time outdoors. Not only will you acquire a naturally, beautiful tan, but it’s also a way for you to get a good amount of Vitamin D, which your body needs to function properly.

We all know that the sun’s rays can be damaging to the skin. Boost your beauty regimen with these natural sun deterrents.

Studies show that aloe vera helps protect skin cells from the damaging effects of the sun. Because of its anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, emollient, and antimicrobial properties, it is ideal for after-sun care.

Just when you thought green tea just couldn’t possibly get any better, it turns out that it also protects the skin. Whether consumed or placed directly on the skin, it protects skin cells and reduces inflammation.

Calendula, like aloe vera, is wonderful for soothing the skin after sun exposure.

You may remember when coconut oil was all the rage for sun protection. Now we know that sesame oil blocks 30% of the sun’s rays, while coconut oil, along with olive oil and peanut oil, only block 20%.

While you won’t want to throw out your sunscreens, these are valuable additions to your medicine cabinet and to your daily beauty routine.
