Candle Concentration.
* Place a lighted candle about 2 feet in front of you.
* Sit comfortably on a towel or on the end of a pillow in a cross-legged position and gaze at the candle for about 2 minutes.
* Now, close your eyes and gently place the palms of your hands against your eyes and in your mind concentrate on the image of the candle. Do not let the flame disappear from your mind. If it does, look for it - in your mind. Continue to do this for about 2 minutes.
* You should only perform this exercise once per session.
Mindful Breathing Yoga Meditation
* Sit or recline in a comfortable position.
* Close your eyes.
* Draw your
attention to your breath - not trying to control it but become aware of its natural rhythm. * Observe the
sensations within the body as you inhale…and as you exhale. * Allow your breath to become slow
and deep. * If your your mind begins to
wander, draw your attention back to your breath. Try to release all
consciousness not associated with the sensations of breathing. Remain as long as
desired, however you should try for at least a half an hour each time.
NOTES: * Try to locate a quiet place,
where you are not likely to be disturbed. * If possible,
choose the same time of the day, as well as the same place,
